The organization is dedicated to supporting low-income families and some middle class families by assisting with vehicle repairs, traffic fines, parking tickets, vehicle registration and insurance payments. Wheels of Change NYC also offers community workshops, where citizens of New York can learn more about their car so they can be a more informed consumer, save money, stay safe, and tackle basic repairs themselves. Additionally, wheels of change offers an apprenticeship program to help young and troubled teenagers and young adults learn the mechanic trade. Doing so teaches them accountability, resilience, problem solving , adaptability, communication, dexterity, time management,organization, and most importantly healthy morals and standards. In conclusion Wheels Of Change NYC purpose not only helps the community and its members but also the City of New York itself by making the roads safer.
